Wolves of Moon and Sun by yuumei on Deviantart

i'm feel really down these days.
Many things cropped up, and they kinda snowballed with my negative emotions.
But i won't let it affect me. i have alr ranted elsewhere, so that's enough.
I shall cheer up in faith.

I've been reading Joel's Osteen's book.

There's this short story called "Feeding the Good Wolf "
An old Cherokee tale of a Grandfather teaching life principles to His grandchild.
The wise old Cherokee said "Son, on the inside of every person a battle is raging between two wolves.
One wolf is evil. It's angry, jealous, unforgiving, proud, and lazy.
The other wolf is good. It's filled with love, kindness, humility, and self control. "
These two wolves are constantly fighting," the Grandfather said.

The Grandson thought about it, and asked " Grandfather, which wolf is going to win?"

The Grandfather smiled and answered, "Whichever one you feed."

It's a pretty famous story, and gave me a strong feeling.
It's a wake up call for me to be conscious of which 'wolf' i feed.
Then i thought, but sometimes you are bound to feel angry, does it mean you should still abide to the feed-the-good-wolf rule?
For me, i decided i can be negative at times, but not overly.

There's always a time for everything.
There's always this universally correct answer.
Like if you break up, don't be sad. Move on.
So taking this for example, i feel that one should just cry it out first.
Get angry, get upset, feel any negative emotions.
But there will be this time when you know it should be time to stop.
Of course you can ignore this feeling, and it will continue on and on and let it go out of control.
So stop once you've had enough. Then you deal with it and move on.
If not, the negative feelings will come back to haunt you.

Referring back to the story, (possibly decreasing the magical-ity as well)
it says two wolves are constantly fighting.
I don't think any wolf is meant to die.
It is only human to have two wolves existing in them.
I don't think you can kill off any.
Then wont you become inhumane? (i'm jk)
Hence, it's okay to have both wolves alive.
When it's time to feed them and keep them alive, do it.
But you can always control which one you decide to make stronger.

I hope it makes sense.
Cos the idea is clear in my head, but i may not be necessarily doing a good job in projecting it out.
I'm sure we all know how it feels. haha.

Mun Teng knows that she is stronger because she knows her weaknesses, wiser because she has learnt from her mistakes, and laugh more often because she has known sadness.
